Why Life Coaching Can Be a Game-Changer
In a coaching session this week, I had a client tell me that she has been in therapy for almost two years. She said there was something about our work that was different. After only six weeks of working together, she decided to make a big decision she’d been putting off and completely change her life. Obviously, this kind of feedback from a client makes my heart full. It also makes me think about why coaching is so impactful and why it isn’t more prevalent.
Many people simply don’t know that life coaching exists. Or, they may have heard about it but have no idea what it is. BetterUp defines life coaching this way: “Life coaches are strategic partners in personal development who help clients clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and design actionable plans for transformative change.” I love every part of this. It is my work exactly. Big picture thinking and intentional planning are key to what I help my clients with. Our time together allows for the space to deeply focus and strategize to bring you clarity and get powerful outcomes.
You might wonder if life coaching is for you. It is for anyone seeking guidance and support to achieve personal and professional goals, overcome challenges, and create a more fulfilling life. It can be helpful for those who feel stuck in their lives or careers, are dealing with difficult emotions, or are going through a life transition. Life coaching can help if you have thoughts like
“I don’t know how I got here.”
“There has to be more than this.”
“I have everything, I should be happy.”
“I’m running out of time.”
“I’m stuck.”
“I’m not living up to my potential.”
“I should have this figured out by now.”
“I’ll never change.”
Change doesn’t have to be drastic to be meaningful. All it takes is a shift in perspective, a moment where you allow yourself to believe that something else is possible. And that’s where this work comes in. You can create another path. Make one different choice. It could be as simple as deciding to get clear on what you actually want. It could be questioning the beliefs that have kept you stuck or giving yourself permission to want something more. It could be taking action, even when you don’t feel fully ready.
A life coach isn’t here to tell you what to do. I don’t have your answers. I am most definitely not an expert. What I do have are really good questions, the right frameworks, and the ability to help you pull apart what feels overwhelming so you can see the path forward. I help you recognize the patterns keeping you stuck and find the clarity to make decisions that align with who you are and what you want.
I’ve been diving deep into the areas that many people struggle with most, things like balancing health, finances, and career changes, and how to start making progress toward the life you really want. I’ve got something exciting coming up that could help. This spring, I’m launching Reimagine: From Stuck to Strategy, a series of 12 workshops designed to help you clarify your next step, create action plans, and make those shifts with support. Each one is a standalone session focused on a key area where people often feel stuck—health, career, relationships, productivity, decision-making, and more. You’ll get hands-on strategies, thought-provoking exercises, and real-time clarity so you can start making meaningful change. If you’re curious about what’s possible, start here. One different choice. One shift in perspective. One small step toward something better.
